Twin Schools
Schools helping Schools is one way to help eradicate poverty.

Patricia Garland

Patricia Garland knew very little of the effect it would have on the community in Morawaka when she introduced David Menzies to Break Poverty Cycle.

While helping children and adults speak English David was also busy constructing classrooms and a canteen at MR/Alapaladeniya School. Well done Pat!
David Menzies

David Menzies attended the opening ceremony of the buildings he constructed at M/Alapaladeniya Maha Vidyalaya, Morawaka, in June 2009.

Year 3 Hapugala

The children of H/Hapugala Maha Vidyalya has been twinned with Ambergate Primary School in Derbyshire, United Kingdom
Year 4 Hapugala

Sri Lanka has a handful of qualified English teachers to teach children of approximately 10,000 schools. One way UK is helping Sri Lankan children is through linking schools. Children of Ambergate Primary School are communicating with the children of G/Hapugala Maha Vidyalaya.

Through scheme like this, children besides learning about the world around them they also acquire leadership skills. You too can participate in the children helping children scheme by helping BPC link your local school with a school in the third world. Contact us via e-mail
